Alfhild is an alluringly beautiful young woman of Ulfen descent although she does not possess the features commonly associated with her people. Her long, intricately braided hair is light brown, not the yellow-blond or fiery red most associated with the Ulfen by southerners. Her eyes are large and a rich hazel, almost golden hue instead of blue with long, thick lashes and thin, arching brows. She has finely sculpted facial features with high cheekbones, full shapely lips, and a small nose.

Her height is typical for an Ulfen woman as she stands around 5’8” tall but her body is a little more slender and lithe than most of her sisters. Alfhild has narrower hips and a small chest to go along with her slim waist. Her limbs are long and wiry, belying an understated strength that becomes more apparent when she lifts her finely-forged battle axe and well-crafted, wooden shield. While she posses the voice of an angel and has become a Skald of her people, she is still a warrior and shield maiden with an attitude to match. Her instrument of choice is an animal horn that she frequently carries in her hand.

She was born Hilda but it was her appearance and the dulcet sounds of her voice that influenced her naming when she came of age. Alf is the Skald word for Elf so her name roughly translates to Elf Hilda which is both a nod to her beauty and voice and a source of consternation to her pride as Elves are considered weaker than Humans on the islands of the Ironborn Archipelago where she was raised.

Dress: Alfhilda normally dresses like a typical Ulfen Raider from Halgrim. She wears a magical lamellar breastplate that stops short at her waist with a metal band that rides above her hips for extra protection which she says was her mother’s before her. Her low-rise, leather pants are worn and have seen better days but she claims they are made from the hide on an Elk that she hunted herself, before her name day, so she hasn’t been able to part with them yet. Her dark boots are tall and soft, made from the fur of seals native to her homeland making them very water resistant. Her forearms are covered by fur and leather bracers. The most unique aspect about her attire is the small, bearskin bedroll she wears across her shoulders, evidently another trophy from when she was younger.

When going on a raid or participating in a large battle, Alfhild will decorate the right side of her face and her right arm with tribal tattoos to the Ulfen gods. These markings serve multiple purposes including paying tribute to the gods and praying for glory in battle. They also make her look fiercer to her foes with the aim of intimidating them on the battlefield. Finally, the act of painting them helps her focus on the battle ahead.
