Justice

William "Mack" Bender had it all, a job he enjoyed, driving delivery trucks, a beautiful wife, and a home in the sub-burbs. Nobody could have been happier, and his wife was his whole world.

It all came crashing down one day when he came home to find his wife murdered.  He had no idea who had done it, and the gun was laying next to the body.  Stunned he picked up the gun and looked at it.  This has ended his world.  Nothing mattered anymore.

While he was holding the gun, the police came in.  They saw Mack with the gun and figured him to be the murderer.  They arrested him, and Mack said nothing in response.  His only desire was to be with his wife again.

There was a trial, but Mack refused to testify in his own behalf.  With the scant amount of evidence available, Mack was found guilty.  Again, he said nothing.  It didn't matter what happened to him, he merely wanted to be with his wife.

He was sentenced to the electric chair, and in the months leading up to the execution, he said nothing.  He indicated, that yes he wanted a priest to mentor to him, but again was mute about matters.

The execution came, and Mack was eerily quiet on his dead man's walk.  He was put in the chair, and then he looked at the audience.  It dawned on him then who'd taken away his life, his neighbor.  The why's didn't matter, just the what.  Mack struggled to get loose of the chair's straps, but they held firm.

It looked like Mack would die with no justice for his wife, that the neighbor would get away with it.  As he sat there dying however, twitching from the electricity coursing through him, a strange calmness settled on him.

He would not die here.  In fact, he could easily free himself of these straps.  He found out that Justice was more than an abstract, it was a force, an entity if you will.  Justice was giving Mack another chance to get the killer.

Mack broke free, and broke through the glass between the chair and the audience.  He went to the killer and lifted him into the air by the scruff of his neck.  The killer's hair went from blond to stark white as the killer experienced what it was like to die, and what awaited him on the other side should he not confess.

The killer screamed out the confession.  Screamed how he'd killed Mack's wife because she refused to have an affair with him.  Screamed how jealous he was of Mack, and had wanted a taste of what he had.

Satisfied, Mack thought he'd finally be allowed to die.  Justice had other plans.  Mack was needed in the days to come.  There was a great injustice called the Nazi party that needed a representative of Justice to help address.

Mack, no Justice now and forever more, would assist those that were already fighting the Nazi's as only he can.  Perhaps then, he'll finally be reunited with his wife, and they could have their bliss after death.

When Justice is using his powers, his skin and hair turn grey.  When he is not powered up, his hair is blond, and his skin a deathly pale Caucasian, his eyes sparkling blue.
