Ser Harald Sarwyck

Age: 34
Home: Riverspring, the Westerlands
House Motto: Family is Hope, Protect it Always
Hair: Coifed golden hair
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 217lbs

Physical Traits: Harald looks remarkably youthful for his age, possessed of precious few wrinkles besides smile lines. He has been favorably compared to honeycakes in both manner and appearance.

He is also a man of incredible size, whose ease belies a terrifying physical prowess.

Attire: Although he is far less opulent than his wife, Harald dresses nicely on most occasions. He favors the warm, summertime red of his house with gold affectations.

At tourney and on the battlefield, Ser Harald wears steel plate with black and gold laurels from his past victories. The only indulgent aspect of his generally practical armor is a bright red plume atop his helm. He favors the use of a shield whenever possible, be it alongside a lance or his iconic leaden flail.

History: Harald is the only son of Lord Garrett Sarwyck, a bombastic man of legendary appetites. As a youth, Harald accompanied his father across the Westerlands, the Reach and Dorne -- the latter his father's favorite, owing to their wholly unusual cuisine -- to attend great gatherings, tournaments especially, to partake of the finest offerings in the Seven Kingdoms and take in the spectacle.

The food was nice, but the prodigiously bulky boy found he was far more enamored with the knights and warriors making their mark on the world through good sport and valor.

Years later, after squiring for a minor knight of the realm for some years, Harald debuted at the legendary Tourney of Harrenhal, where he barely made it out of the first brackets before yielding to Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Sportsmanship and his chance of victory aside, tilting against the Crown Prince was beyond the pale of etiquette. Ser Harald does not regret his forfeit, even knowing what came after.

Like all men of the Westerlands, Ser Harald didn't see much battle during Robert's Rebellion. The sole exception being, of course, the Sack of King's Landing. On the topic of that bloodbath, Ser Harald is known to fall uncharacteristically mum.

Peace came, a king was crowned, and the realm returned to business as usual. Tourneys remained Ser Harald's passion, and he made a small name for himself competing around the Kingdoms. He eventually found himself in the service of House Serrett, although it was a service called upon rarely.

Seven years ago, he wed a noble daughter of Dorne as part of a political contract between their fathers, and was surprised to find a genuine partner in Nymella. Her manner was unusual, her behavior sometimes inappropriate, but she wore it all with a relentless charm that reminds Harald of the wide-eyed joy he felt as a boy traveling Westeros with his father.

Harald and Nymella have six children together, two sets of triplets, who are the apple of their grandfather's eye. They remain safely in Riverspring.

The fun of tourneys and small children came to an abrupt end with the War of Five Kings, which thrust Ser Harald into battle against the fearsome armies of King Robb and, later, King Stannis.

Treachery defeated the rebels, though, allowing Ser Harald a brief return home before Lord Serrett asked the knight and his lady-wife to travel north, to a small keep called the Icewell, where Lady Joslyn Serrett was working to keep her northern cousins from bringing ruin upon themselves.
