Lorna Stone

The Description:  Winsome and pretty, a good listener, Lorna's manners are well honed, and she's usually able to make her way socially, within (sometimes around) the limits of her illegitimacy. What her light brown hair lacks in dramatic color, it makes up for in soft, healthy texture. Her eyes are enigmatically dark, her voice pleasantly pitched, and both are expressive when she seeks to make some point. She stands just a little over average height, lithe and coordinated. While she will garb for the occasion, as much as is possible, left to her own devices she prefers some tasteful nod to style.

The Persona: Lorna is a budding student of human nature.   Disadvantaged by her bastard status, she strives to compensate by understanding what makes people tick, as well as by discovering their secrets when and where that may be possible.     She enjoys learning, and knows bits and pieces of things, that are sometimes useful, but just as often merely interesting.    Though she gives lip service to the Seven, she is much more intrigued by the Old Gods, as well as the diverse and colorful gods of Essos.  She usually enjoys an opportunity to learn about any of these.

The Backstory: Lorna's mother is the middle daughter of a well to do family of (predominantly) horse breeders and merchants, citizens of the Vale. Something of a drunkard, her mother never let Lorna forget she was a reminder of a brief, painful, and doomed romance.    While she had her place within that family, her imagination and ambition made it hard for her not to think about how things would be were she her father's legitimate daughter, Lorna Royce.  During her tenth year, she attended a ceremony at the Vale's largest Sept, and decided the trio of archetypes foisted on women --  maid, mother, and crone --  were too simplistic and restrictive for her liking.   This kindled a growing dislike of the faith of the Seven, and sparked her interest in religions older or foreign.     Eventually, her love of learning secrets got her into serious trouble, and ousted from her family.   It was necessary to go elsewhere, to reinvent herself.

Who could guess that this would finally wend her north, and into the employ of the Icemarks - ?

The Present:  (coming soon!)
