Drannathorin

Appearance: In his Dragon form, Drannathorin is a well muscled blue dragon with expansive wings. Though his scales are hard and tightly knitted on his body, if a mortal were to touch it would have a smooth feeling rather than scaley. Given the obviously musculature and his natural claws, however, one could easily see why the dragons of legend were so feared. And here stands one living.

Alternatively, in his primary mortal guise (as Calus), he is a middle aged human if on the younger side, perhaps in his mid thirties, cleanly shave or at times with a neatly trimmed beard. He tends to dress in the attire typically associated with the Keepers in the Kingdom - namely robes. His though are in general rather plain and unremarkable, though finely crafted and obviously custom tailored. While most of the Keepers in general tend to denote their ranking through the glyphs and sigils on the robes, his are completely bare. This marks him as something either very unimportant.. or someone very important.

Personality: Calus (and Drannathorin to those who have had a chance to deal with him - mostly other dragons at this point) maintains a rather direct manner to his personality all things considered. He is highly intelligent and displays great insight into almost any subject that comes up - magic, military, economic or even diplomacy. Though he tends to be more direct than subtle in his comments and suggestions, he is relatively friendly and helpful to all - particularly King Roland. While his general demeanor tends to be rather forthright and direct, many suspect that ultimately its all a ruse as his true motives are just a day, a week or a year ahead and he's out-thinking them all. Strangely, this view may be more correct than not.

Recent History:In the past century, Drannathorin has worked within the mortal world more occasionally than not, but only in the most recent years has he taken a more permanent position there. His involvement in the final breaking of Belrand into two nations is unclear, but his prior incarnation/persona was one of the founding members of the Keepers at that time. This hints that he at least was around to whisper the suggestion of breaking from the Faith to maintain the Keepers - since the Faith wished to outlaw all such users to award the crown.  With all the Keepers going east to the new Kingdom, how much aid he was able to lend in the stabilizing of the new Kingdom at that time is unclear. And Calus certainly isn't telling any of the mortals. Right now - in his present incarnation - he has taken a position within the leadership of the Keepers and has become a strong personal advisor to King Roland to the annoyance of some. Though young, he appears to be the strongest magic user the Keepers have had in memory, even rivaling or surpassing his old form.

Goals: His goals seem rather direct for the most part but then complicated at the same time. He obviously wishes to bring magic (if not Theurgy) back into the mortal realm once again, which in part means an acceptance of Dragons in the mortal world. To accomplish this, however, would be to reveal Dragons as alive and well in part at least. Which also means raising the ire of the Faith, thus his own plans must include some means to either eliminate or negate their influence in the world.
