For decades, the valley realm of Wendar has known peace under the rule of the wizard-king Gylharen. But now, a theft has caused the kingdoms magical defenses to be breached and a terrible threat looms from beyond the nigh impassible Mengul Mountains, within the bleak lands of Denagoth.
Desperate to keep his people safe, Gylharen has reached out for help from his ally to the south, the forest kingdom of Haven. Havens ruler, the Princess Argenta, answers by sending a band of famed adventurers to aid the wizard-king, many of whom rescued her own lands from an ancient evil.
Saga of the Shadow Lord is an adventure utilizing the Dungeons and Dragons Expert Rulebook, authored by Dave Cook. It also makes use of material from the Dungeons and Dragon Basic Rulebook, written by Tom Moldvay. Both books were published by TSR. The scenario is taken from the module of the same name, created by Stephen Bourne.
