Derrick is a mountain of a man at close to seven feet tall and easily two hundred pounds. He clearly puts a lot of work into maintaining his natural gifts as his broad shouldered frame indicates. Prior to his transformation, the corded muscles distracted from surprisingly perceptive eyes. He used to keep his head shaved ever since his hair had started thinning. His face was slightly care worn, but still youthful as he moved into his mid-thirties.

Since traveling beyond the Veil, Derrick has become infected with a crystal virus that transformed his skin into a blue crystal, diamond-hard surface. Far from being upset about this development, he has embraced the change and the benefits offered by having hardened skin. He also emerged from the Veil with distinctive white irises though they are by no means the first thing people notice.

He has a reassuring smile that is somewhat belied by the heavy mace that is almost always tied at his belt. Despite the crystal skin, he also wears a suit of home-made plate armor and though there are signs of his inexpert workmanship, it appears quite sturdy with the interlocking metal plates. He wears a small icon of the Church of the Sovereign One around his neck and his clothes under his armor are a plain and unassuming shade of grey made of durable cloth.

Glaive Background: Derrick was conscripted into military service, but left when he was initiated into the Church of the Sovereign One.
