Herakles

Real Name: Herakles

Assumed name: Mark Hawkins

Physical description: Herakles stands at six foot four inches and weighs 220lbs, all muscle. He has long, dark brown hair and light brown eyes. Currently he has a bit of scruff from his time wandering the ruins.

He typically dresses in jeans, a long sleeved shirt and a jacket.

Age: Exact age is unknown, somewhere around 3000 though he looks to be in his early to mid 30s.

Skills/Abilities: Aside from his supernatural strength and greater than normal constitution, Herakles is an excellent hand to hand combatant, particularly wrestling. He is also highly skilled with most classical melee weapons, though his preferred weapon has always been a club.

Weapons: His only carried weapon is, on the surface, little more than a baseball bat. The truth of the matter is that while visiting earth in the 1980s he developed an interest in baseball and had Hephaestus craft his club, once used to defeat the Nemean Lion, into a baseball bat.

Weaknesses: While he was once the strongest of the Olympians recent events have led to him becoming mortal once more. This would be of greater concern to him if he could remember the fact that he had been a god but whatever led to his sudden arrival on earth has caused him to have amnesia.

Bad Adjectives:

Amnesiac: Herakles doesn’t remember who he is or how he got wherever he is.

Lonely: Even though he hasn’t had much time to focus on it while he’s been clearing the debris and corpses from his home, Herakles is currently the only man in his kingdom and he would like company.

Dirty: Herakles has been working on clearing dead bodies out of the Olympus since he found his way to it. As such he has basically been living inside of a mausoleum for a few weeks and it isn’t just the building that currently smells like death.

Resources:

Abundant

Food and water: The Olympus was fully stocked to sustain the entire hotel at peak capacity for six months but when the generators were damaged and the air stopped flowing there was no one left to eat or drink. Herakles is now left with enough food and water to last him for years if he remained the only person in the hotel.

Shelter: Herakles is the only person alive in a massive hotel / casino with thirteen floors, he has plenty of room.

Sufficient

Air filters: Herakles doesn’t realize that the air is toxic as his divine blood has been keeping the worst of the toxins at bay, so he’s had windows open in the upper levels of the hotel to let air in. The Olympus does have an air filtration system but without power it is currently useless.

Deficient

Weapons: Herakles has an unbreakable baseball bat (well mostly unbreakable, even though he doesn’t realize it the bat is crafted to withstand being used at his full strength but a god could destroy it).

Power: The Olympus has power generators that were damaged and are currently inoperable.

Transportation: Herakles walks, a lot.

Workforce: Herakles is a one man work crew currently.

Manufacturing: If Herakles can’t make it with his bare hands it isn’t getting made.

Raw Materials: While there are plenty of raw materials on Paris Island (and around the Olympus) he doesn’t currently have any use for it that he’s aware of so he just lets it alone. If more people start moving into the Olympus there will probably be a use for it all.

History: Demigod, god, hero, villain: all terms that were used to describe Herakles at one time or another over the course of his life. The son of Zeus has protected earth from ancient monsters and eventually was raised up to godhood on Mount Olympus where he has served to protect the Olympians from greater threats for thousands of years.

As the Earth was dying in nuclear hell fire, most the Olympians were unconcerned (Demeter was understandably pissed off at what the mortals had done) and the events would have passed without notice, were it not for one thing: one of the bombs detonated near the Necromanteion and the explosion traveled through the physical gate into the realm of Hades. Empowered by the magical energy it wiped out many souls in the underworld before damaging the Gates of Tartarus and releasing the Titans.

Once word reached Olympus of the escape the gods gathered their forces to defend their home from their Primordial predecessors. For three years the Titans battled the Dodecathon from the depths of Hades to the slopes of Olympus and many victories were attributed to the strength of Herakles. In the middle of a great battle, Herakles found himself facing many of the creatures he had once defeated in defense of the humans below. But what had once been easy to defeat while fighting them alone or with a few gathered, he found to be much more difficult when he fought them en masse...

The next thing he was able to recall was waking up in the ruins of a city naked and freezing, strangely enough holding a baseball bat. After wandering through a few buildings he managed to find some clothes that fit him and settled in for the night. After attempts to remember anything proved fruitless he continued to search the building and eventually found an old book about a man who fought monsters on a secret island. The thought of fighting monsters somehow felt right to him and so, with no other real ideas, he took the main character's name for himself.

After a few days and nights of aimless wandering, 'Mark' found a building labeled "Olympus" and for some reason it struck a chord within him. The building was sealed tight though thanks to his great strength he was easily able to reopen the front doors and gain access. Weeks of working to clear the building have left him with a decent amount of living space to work in.

Now if he could just figure out who he really is and how he came to be in this mysterious city he'd be set...
