Wonder Girl

Name: Skyla Prince

Aliases: Wonder Woman

Age: 24

Physical Description: Tall and athletic without being unseemly, Skyla cuts a very impressive figure. At six foot tall, she is a human definition of an amazon. Her eyes blaze a brilliant blue, especially bright when emotional, and her hair tumbles down her back as bright as spun gold would.

Her uniform is made of a special Kevlar weave and armoured shirt and pant set, with the addition of several plates on different areas to better protect her more vulnerable spots. She carries a small selection of weapons on her person, including a bow with razor-sharp arrows (useless against tech but still quite efficient against flesh), a gladius style sword made of the finest carbon steel that has been magically enchanted by her mother to resist breakage, and her mother's original Lasso of Truth.

Biography: Skyla is caught between two worlds, it seems - the world of the supernatural, the divine, the supreme, and the world of humans. She has been bred to be humanity's great defender, but she is not blind to the truth, that it was humans who did this to themselves. Still, she is nothing if not her mother's daughter. There are still innocent people in the world, and she would do anything to protect them. It was what she was made for, quite literally, just like her mother before her.

History: Diana has lived a very, very long time. Molded from clay hundreds of years ago by the hand of Zeus himself, crafted for the very purpose of defeating Ares and bringing humankind under her protection, even if in many ways, they did not deserve it. She never shied from her duties, never balked at a challenge, and she bore many of the scars left by her exploits in the Justice League and other superhero groups with as much grace as she could. But as time passed, one thing became abundantly clear to Diana -- she could not last forever. Almost every hero aged, eventually growing old, and those were the lucky ones. Far more died at the end of a gunshot or a villain's trap, or any other manner of horrific ways to die. Diana did not age like mortal humans did, but she knew her power would not last forever.

She tried for a long time to have a child of her own, but alas, things were not in her favour. The DNA of humans, especially the modified DNA found in nearly every human who existed in the near four hundred years after her defeat of Ares, appeared to be incompatible with her own, at least enough that a natural pregnancy with a human was not possible. She considered cloning herself, building another little her, but quickly decided against it. No... she wanted her child to not be exactly like her. She wanted her to be more diverse. Better understanding of what it was they fought to protect. In short, she wanted her child to be more... human.

Eventually, technology progressed to where a human body was not needed to nurture a human embryo. Diana began experimenting with cutting edge technology, and eventually found a way to cross her own Amazon DNA with that of a human. Now came a far more difficult choice. She was a hero, after all, world renowned and great, one of the original Justice League. She could have any donor she wanted in the whole world of fifteen billion people. The donor didn't even have to be male - copying genes and mixing them was much easier when actual copulation was not required.

However, while she loved humanity, and she had loved many men and women through the years, there were three who stood out. The first was, of course, Steve Trevor. Even after all of these centuries, she thought of him so often and with great sorrow. Second was Clark Kent, AKA Superman. He was the only man who could really keep up with her, not to mention share her apparently immortality. There was just one little problem... He wasn't human. Wasn't that the whole point of not just cloning herself? Finally, there was her most... controversial and unlikely love interest. Bruce Wayne. Bruce was unlike any human she had ever met before or since. While she had loved Steve with all her heart, Bruce was much more clever and decisive than any mortal seemed to have a right to be. It was one of the things that drew her to him during their years in the Justice League. Bruce had been dead for nearly five hundred years. But he was nothing if not incredibly well prepared.

With ample samples of his DNA profile, both from physical samples kept cryogenically frozen and from his decedents still in touch with Diana, she was able to isolate Bruce's genetic code and successfully combine it with one of her own egg cells. Nine months later, Skyla was born from the artificial womb that incubated her; sculpted and crafted by Diana not so much unlike Diana had been by Zeus.

Skyla, of course, knows nothing of this. It was not so unusual for her that she didn't know who her father was. She was the daughter of a wealthy and powerful woman; people in her social circles often had divorced parents, or single businesswomen mothers who had opted for sperm donors rather than the mess of a marriage. She was sent to the finest private schools in France, and not unexpectedly, began combat training by her own mother as soon as she was old enough to hold a sword. However, it became very apparent soon enough that while she was exceptional for a human, Skyla could hardly hold a candle to even the weakest of pure blooded Amazons. It was only after twelve years of training that she got even close to where her mother had begun.

And then, the end came.

In the dead of night, Skyla was pulled roughly form her bed and whisked down to a bunker beneath her home by her mother as the world dissolved around her, nuclear blasts destroying most of the surface world. When she woke, it was three days later, and she was alone, even though the bunker was locked from the inside. All that showed that her mother had even been there was a note.

"Skyla; The end has come quicker than expected. I thought we would have more time. More time to practice. More time to talk. More time for me to tell you of your past, and your future. Alas, time is a luxury we do not have. Make your way to Gotham City in America and seek out the last of your family. You may find answers there. Your training is now complete. And your test has begun. I love you, my shining star. Never forget that you are my daughter, a Prince, and the rightful princess of Themyscira. May we see each other again. Your Mother - Diana Prince - Wonder Woman."

The computer within the bunker had been corrupted by the EMPs from the nuclear blasts nearby, rendering any information it held useless. She did, however, find a personal arsenal very close to her mother's own - modern and sophisticated armour, complete with extra pieces to protect more vulnerable areas, a finely crafted sword traditional of the Amazon warriors, a pair of bracers like her mother's own but far more technological in nature, and the fabled Lasso of Truth, unbreakable and legendary.

It took three years, but eventually Skyla made her way to America, and eventually to Gotham City, as her mother had bid her. Once a sprawling metropolis, it was now nearly as destitute as Paris. However, there was life here, in whatever form it could survive now. Skyla swore then that she would give whatever she had left to protect the people, and answer the true purpose of her birth, and went as instructed to find her last remaining family.

Flaws/Weaknesses:

*Single-Minded: Skyla feels that she only has one mission in life, that she had been created for one single purpose; to protect humanity. She will put her life in danger to save even a single person, even if that single person is of questionable morality himself. Life is incredibly precious to her... except her own, it seems.

*Unrelatable: Skyla seems to think she knows what's best for everyone, but she is so inexperienced with what it is to be an average human that many concepts are merely foreign ideas - poverty, pain, sickness... she knows what they are, but she cannot understand them. This makes it quite difficult to be an effective hero of the people. Most people of the slums see her as nothing more than another aristocrat trying to seize what control there is left.

*Delusions of Grandeur: In the storm of chaos that is the world, Skyla is positive to a breaking fault that she can 'fix' it. It isn't about surviving in the now for her, it's about trying to make things back to how they used to be, for the sake of humanity. As such, she is incredibly resistant to change, especially if that change goes against what she deems to be the 'right direction'.

Notes: Her durability is already impressive thanks to her Amazon blood. When she activates the magic in her bracers, her defenses becomes almost impenetrable. However, this can only happen when her bracers are crossed and she is concentrating, leaving her unable to attack or even move very much. It can, however, create a shield around herself and people in her immediate vicinity, protecting them from and nullifying all forms of incoming energy (ie. kinetic, heat, light, etc.)

Resources:

Abundant:

*Transportation: Unlike her mother, Skyla cannot fly. She can, however, jump very quite high and long. This bounding mixed with her natural agility and balance gives her quite a unique way of quick travel.

Sufficient:

*Weapons: Her sword and her Lasso are technically unbreakable; however, these weapons and her bow are the only weapons she has, and they would be quite difficult to replace if she ever needed to. Plus, arrows are quite hard to find.

*Food/Water: She does not need to eat or drink as much as a normal human, leaving her less likely to require it for long stretches. When she does need it, she can usually get it from the Guardians of Gotham hideout.

*Shelter: She lives in the Guardian's hideout, but as she does not require as much sleep as most humans do, either, she rarely needs her cot anyway.

*Power/Air Filters: Provided by the Guardian's hideout as well.

Deficient:

*Raw Materials/Workforce/Manufacturing: Skyla has no access at all to these things for her own use.
