Alexandra Corrigan

Alexandra Brittany Corrigan was born Kim Eun-Mi in South Korea before she was adopted by Alex and Julianne Corrigan from Seattle, Washington in the United States.  While her upbringing was filled with love, it had its share of trials.  Raised in an evangelical home, Alex found herself in conflict with her family's beliefs as she entered high school.  She didn't believe in God and bristled against the hypocrisy of the church's teachings, which her parents blamed upon the influence of her friends.

She was home-schooled until high school, but ended up going to a private, Christian high school.  While her parents might have been satisfied to continue teaching her from home, they decided the influence of the school would help.  It didn't.  Not really.

Alex discovered early that she loved art and music.  When she began high school, she found additional opportunities to express her creativity.  While the artistic talent was not exactly fostered by the school, she met other kids who were creative just like herself.

When she finally graduated from high school, at the age of eighteen, she found herself a job and an inexpensive apartment.  She also applied to and was enrolled in the University of Washington.

She maintained the minimum of contact with her parents, focusing on her life away from their influence.  During the summer after her first year of college, she managed to get some of her art featured in a downtown gallery, she was cast in a musical at one of the theaters and she joined a band.

It was an exciting time in her life.
