Sam Malloy was another fresh faced young man who got off the bus from middle American, arriving in New York City to be an actor on stage and screen.
He's still waiting years later.
Sam is very talented, and not just because he was the star of all of his high school plays.  He's been noticed and complimented by dozens of directors and producers, but all the opportunities he took advantage of seemed to backfire or fall apart through not fault of his.  The commercial he starred in was for a product that was recalled because of the FDA.  The off broadway stage play he was starring in lost funding due to an embezzling producer.  The pilot he was featured in was canceled because the writer couldn't stop groping interns.
And on it went.  He had a very good underground reputation among many writers, actors, and directors, but also a reputation as a "show killer", and considered bad luck by show business people, who were superstitious on the best of times.
Struggling to get whatever work he could, Sam keeps dreaming of a better life, and finally being Somebody.

A very good looking young man, Sam's look tends towards metrosexual.  He's slim, partially from extensive exercise and partly from not being able to afford a lot of meals.  He's somewhat pale due to being mostly nocturnal, and has a youthful face that will probably see him getting carded in bars until he's in his 50s.
