Background:

Roy Walker was born in a small livestock town named Goldcreek in western Texas. His family from his father's side already lived in Texas for generations, his mother's family originally came from England during 1830 and by the time Roy was born, the family had already established in town and lived there for a few decades. Roy's father was working at a nearby ranch, a local of the town whom Roy's mother married. Roy's mother took care of their home. Roy's aunt, younger sister of his mother eventually became a teacher at the town's schoolhouse. Roy was the middle child of his siblings, being born fourth among his five brothers and one sister. He spent most of his childhood like the rest of his brothers, helping at the ranch as soon as he was able to and even going on cattle drives as such as soon as he was old enough. Their mother and aunt made sure they all had a decent education, including reading, writing and basic arithmetics. Roy himself wasn't very interested in learning though, spent most of what little free time he had outside, getting into trouble or in fights, sometimes for money. He certainly wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's not exactly dumb either. He grew up to be tall and muscular, a mountain of a man, being close to six feet tall. Not someone to be crossed.

When he was 21, he decided to leave his hometown and seek his fortune elsewhere. His older brothers were slated to inherit everything of note anyway (those that returned from their military service in one piece, anyway), and Roy wasn't about to settle down. Atleast, not yet. He spent the next few years wandering around the southwestern states, doing odd jobs and seasonal labor when he needed money. The longest time he stayed in one place was when he found himself in a boomtown, which sprung up basically overnight when some prospectors found gold in the hills. This off course attracted many disreputable individuals, bandits among others and the local sheriff needed deputies. Roy took the job as he really needed the money, even though that a career as a lawman was one of the last things he wished he'd do when he was younger. He planned to stay only a few months there at most, then move on, but ended up sticking around for over a year. He actually ended up quite enjoying his new job, to his surprise, and the constant danger in and around the town helped sharpen his fighting and shooting skills. But it all came to end, as these sorts of boomtowns do. What gold was there eventually ran out and the town started to deteoriate and eventually became a ghost town, as people were leaving in droves. By the time Roy finally left and resumed his travels, the number of inhabitants was in single digits. Thus, he travels again, looking for another adventure.

Roy has a lever-action rifle slung over his shoulder, a holstered Army Pistol, and carries a bloodied axe.
