Running Deer is from Two Feathers Apache tribe.

  Two feathers is a semi-permanent Indian encampment outside the boundaries of the designated Indian lands.

  The fact that it is away from traveled routes and in a relatively remote area accounts for the fact that few white men venture there, or care about its existence.

  He was on a hunting mission with a small group of gatherer's/hunter's and got separated a few days ago.  Not unusual.  Since then, he has not had any human contact until reaching Shiftless on his way home.  He could tell from a distance something was off and then he saw the posse arrive and ride into the livery stable.

  Running Deer wears the traditional Apache clothing of a breechcloth with deerskin leggings fringed decorated with feathers and beads with leather moccasins on his feet.  His long, black hair is tied back in a ponytail and secured with a piece of dried leather.  He also wears a long sleeved, red clay colored shirt and some tribal beads around his neck.
