Hailing from the upper part of Maine, Benjamin Weintraub attended Miskatonic University until he was drafted for the Great War.  He was discharged after losing his left hand at Verdun, returning to Arkham to complete his studies in Archaeology, and earned a PhD under Professor Algernon T. Maxwell.  He lost his first wife to the Influenza Epidemic in 1916 but married again to a medical student; since their subsequent graduations, they have relocated with a young family to Washington DC, where he was selected by the President to direct a secret Bureau deriving funds from the Department of Defense, the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense.  Ben is also known as "the White Mage" and has been known to do great and terrible things.  His code name from the White House is "Doctor White".  Currently his worst enemy is paperwork.
