     A young woman with the dark brown hair and swarthy skin tone of the Caribbean-descended locals of the planet Kingston--though her skin is slightly darker than most of the natives on Kingston, due to a deep suntan.
     Kareela has spent most of her life under the slightly-brighter star of Andiros, where Kingston has been developing a Colony for decades.
     Planet Andiros is a waterworld which the Kingston government has been developing for both tourism, as well as aquacultural industry.  Kareela is a Biologist-in-Training, focusing her studies on the development of new aquaculturally valuable lifeforms.
