Kixia

The Basics

Name: Kixia (Key-shia)

Gender: Female/She

Age: 23

Species: Faun

Pantheon: Greek/Roman

The Physical

Height & Weight: 5'4"

Hair & Eye Color: Brown & Brown

Physical Description: Certainly on the short side for a faun, Kixia stands only a few inches above 5' tall. Not including the horns, at least, that stand another 6 or 7 inches above. Her dark brown hair is usually kept shoulder length, though it's hard to tell as she almost always has it tied back into a ponytail to keep it off her large, sensitive ears. A headband tied around her forehead also helps keep any stray strands from falling out. Adorning her are quite a few beaded pieces of jewelry.
Her skin is very slightly tanned, with dark, animalistic tattoos covering most of her exposed flesh, from her face down to her pelvis. She doesn't wear much in her natural form, mostly a few pieces of green cloth to protect her "modesty", or at least that of the humans she has found herself amongst more and more. She has a slender, athletic body, with lean muscle under her bare skin.

Her lower body, of course, is the most noticeably inhuman part of her. With their shaggy fur and strange, digitigrade gait, her legs are thick and powerful. Her two-toed hooves leave a distinctive track in the dirt, larger than a normal animal's. A short tuft of a tail pokes out above the upper edge of the dark green loincloth she wears tied around her wide hips.

She often carries a bow slung over her back, with a hip-mounted quiver, and a small satchel at her side. Tied to the outside of the satchel is her set of enchanted pan-pipes.

Human Form: Fauns are nearly human, so she doesn't stand out too much, but sometimes it suits her. If nothing else, the feeling of human feet is a novelty, not to mention the sensation of being so...hairless all over. It turns out, losing her animal legs leaves her even shorter, not even making it 5' tall in her strange, bare feet. She still looks somewhat similar, but when in human form, she dyes her hair platinum blonde, cutting it in an asymmetrical modern style. She has her bare ears pierced with a series of rings, not to mention her nose and a few other places. She's gotten quite a few tattoos on her paler skin, more detailed and colorful than the primal ones of her true self. She tends towards industrial style fashion, almost the polar opposite of the natural fibers and minimal cover she wears as a faun. Not to mention thick platform boots to make up for the loss in height.

Talents & Weaknesses

Skills: Like many of her forest kin, she gets along quite well in the wild. She is also fairly proficient with her bow, hunting her prey with ease.

Her goat legs are like a pair of coiled springs, allowing her to jump quite high, or sprint over short distances. She's a decent climber, as well, her hooves seeming to almost stick to surfaces that look nearly vertical.

In addition to their magical properties, she is quite good at playing her pipes, whether a party tune or a soothing melody that tingles right down the spine.

Power/Relics: With her pan-pipes, she has some power over the mind. Usually focused on emotions, the music from her flute can calm the beast inside, or stoke the fire within. It doesn't always work, and she hasn't had much chance to practice on people, given her general lack of experience with them. Beyond her use of the pipes, she doesn't have any magical talents.

She also wears a magical amulet around her neck. Supposedly it will protect her from harm, though she's never had the opportunity or the willingness to test it out.

Vulnerabilities: Socially Awkward. Even as many fae are strange and mercurial when it comes to dealing with people, Kixia seems to have trouble connecting with others. If she were to be analyzed by the same criteria as a human, she would possibly read as neurodivergent in some fashion. Yet, she yearns for connection with other people.

Skittish. Going hand in hand with her social anxiety, she doesn't generally do well with confrontation. Whether it's a charging bear or an angry cuckolded husband.

Endurance. She's a quick sprinter, and reasonably strong, but she generally gets tired easily.

Under The Hood

Personality: A shy, but friendly girl, Kixia is a woman of few words. She always yearns for more, wishing it wasn't so hard for her to communicate and connect with the people and beings around her. It's made a bit more frustrating by the fact of what she is. She may not be as randy as the faun's cousin the satyr, but it's certainly still a factor. Given the right circumstance, though, it's like a switch is flipped. She can find herself commanding in the presence of those who seem receptive or awed by the short statured woman.

Backstory: Kixia would have been one to seek asylum in Rhodes, had she not already been on the island. She was born and lived her whole life there, as far as she knew. Most fauns are "lovers, not fighters" and she is no different, as cliched as it sounds even to her. She couldn't imagine going to a life or death battle, she fled in fear at some raised voices. For a time, she watched as the human population of the nearby cities suddenly and quickly was pushed out in favor of all sorts of mythos and monster, some kind of large scale thing was happening. Eventually she decided that maybe it was her time to try to become part of 'society' so to speak, and made her way through the orientation that the newcomers to the island had to go through. Even though it was her home, she knew it wouldn't be long before she'd be pushed out like the humans had otherwise.

Connections: None to speak of. She's pretty much unconnected to human society, and as far as she's aware her parents were mundane, probably a satyr and a human woman, or some other fae.
