Intro


Olympus Has Fallen is an apocalyptic, urban fantasy game based in modern times. The game will focus on a cast of demigods, mythological creatures and humans trying to survive or even fight in a shadow war fought between gods and titans.

This war, the cause of countless casualties, was all sparked by one little prophecy told by the Fates 18 years prior to the release of the Titans:

The Prophecy Of Hades:
In 18 years precisely, the planets will align ever so nicely.
The time to act will be at hand. Unleash the Titans, your monstrous band.
Then the once-proud Zeus will finally fall and you, Hades, will rule all!
But a word of caution to this tale- should the gods unite, you will surely fail.





Summary


This game takes place in the year 2021, on the island of Rhodes, after the fall of the Greek gods. Hades (of course it was Hades) betrayed the Olympians, and freed the Titans from Tartarus, marking the start of the second Titanomachy- the war between god and titan.

The betrayal of Hades took place ten years before the start of the game, in 2011. The war has raged, several gods have fallen and many mortal lives have been lost. However, the remaining Greek gods have gone into hiding and gathered on the island of Rhodes, where they prepare their army for upcoming battles. Having called in favors and formed alliances with many pantheons, reinforcements come from all over the world in the form of demigods, mythical creatures and humans from all walks of life, looking to join the fight.

Players will take on the role of soldier in the Olympian Initiative, or refugees seeking the protection of the Olympians and their allies, in hopes of riding out the war in a safe location. Or, maybe you're a spy, infiltrating the Initiative on behalf of the Titans? There are plenty of options for personal plots to unfold and even more opportunities for creative freedom, in this world on the brink of destruction.


Disclaimer


This is a free-form game, meaning that there will be no dice rolling or general system that the players have to adhere to. I may roll dice behind the scenes, from time to time, to determine the outcome of a certain event, but that will not be something the players have to participate in. Likewise, there will be an overarching pre-made plot and some quests that I may offer, but the majority of the game will be player led. I, and any other GM(s) that may join in the future, will not lead your character by the nose. If you're looking for a game that is heavily GM centric, this is not the game for you. That being said, I will be writing as some NPC's that are important to the plot here and there and will be offering plot hooks, but you will need to be able to write your own story and interact with the other characters on your own for the most part. Do not expect to rely on the GM(s) for everything, we have lives as well, and our time is limited, as is the case with most of you.
