Fraejia

Name: Fraejia
Race: Aesper
Age: 400 (actual age unknown but much older)
Gender: female
Rank: Lieutenant
Position: Counselor/Dilpomatic Staff
Physical appearance: Fraejia is a largely human looking woman standing five foot four and weighing roughly one hundred fifty pounds.  Her hair is blue-black in color and worn long to her waist in braids while her eyes are a pale blue.  Her skin is pale blue and cool to the touch and, when she has her way, she wears very little in the way of clothing as she gets too hot easily unless required to.

Personality:Fraejia is a mysterious woman of an unknown species and she plays up that mystery quite effectively.  When she is convinced to speak pf her own people the stories are often conflicting, whether because she is lying or not telling the whole truth is patently unclear as no one has been able to catch her in a lie yet.  She is often cool towards those she first meets and icy to those she dislikes but for those she is comfortable with her icy demeanor tends to thaw.

Despite what some might term a stand-offish nature Faaejia is very good and negotiation when she needs to be and has proven herself capable of defending herself quite viciously even without any kind of weapon other than her own natural abilities.  It has also been noticed that she has an aversion to certain areas of the ship.  She tries to avoid the science labs and bridge if she can and won't step foot near the warp core.  Why this is isn't entirely unclear but if the multitude of problems her quarters seem to develop are an indication she either is an absolute klutz with technology or something about her causes it to fail more often than it should.

Service record: Fraejia finished her time at Star Fleet Academy in 2370 and then entered into the counseling and diplomatic programs finishing both in just two years.  She began service on the USS Rosenbaum, a science vessel, that was tasked with entering the Gamma Quadrant to explore and it was there that things fell apart.  While she was on an away team exploring one of the planets the Rosenbaum came under attack by Gem Hadar and was quickly destroyed.  Her team was stranded on the surface and forced to survive until rescue could come.

Fraejia convinced her team to go to one of the planets frozen poles, both because it was easier for her to survive there and because she knew she could hide their signatures from the Gem Hadar searchers due to her natural interference with technologies.  The description of the next several days from the others indicated that Fraejia began to glow and discharge some kind of energy as she "sang" for the next several days and that this caused a massive area of disruption that kept communicators and tricorders from working and even disrupted Gem Hadar cloaking fields.  When the song stopped it was because the Gem Hadar had finally tracked the source of the song and attacked.

The next few moments were a blur of fighting but the report the other away team members gave was of a very different Fraejia.  This one was cold and scary as she seemed to go into a near berserker state and it became apparent exactly why she wanted to hide here as she fought off the soldiers with the very ice around them.  When members of the rescue team found them Fraejia was out cold and the entire team of Gem Hadar soldiers had been frozen completely solid.

It was a sobering bit of information for the scientists that Fraejia was capable of this large scale manipulation of temperature.  They knew she could somehow modify the rate at which molecules vibrate, slowing them down so things could freeze.  She'd demonstrated this talent many time but no one realized the extent to which she could do it until now.  She explained it was only possible due to the unique conditions they were in and that she likely wouldn't be able to do so again.

As the Dominion War began the need for Counsellors and Diplomats began to take a back seat to combat and Fraejia found herself dissatisfied with the stat of things as starfleet began an instrument of war.  Still she'd taken an oath and served as she could moving into the role of science officer for the duration of the fighting.  She served in several battles and eventually served aboard Deep Space Nine during the last few months of the war.

When the fighting was over Fraejia could have gotten any post she wanted, even a command of her own, but she chose to go back to what she enjoyed, counseling and diplomacy.  Given she wanted to be someplace that would give her a chance to explore once more Frajia chose to apply for the position of Counselor aboard the USS Wanderer when she prepared for her journey of exploration.  A position she hoped very much she could get.

Pre-Starfleet: Fraejia first came to the notice of the federation when a Ferengi tried to press charges for attempted murder in 2366 when a Federation Captain who had become involved in the dispute.  This Captain found a coldly beautiful alien woman who responded to the charge that it was self-defense when the Ferengi tried to kidnap her to service him on his ship.  While there was no doubt that something happened to the Ferengi he couldn't prove how she could have caused his entire lobe to develop severe frostbite and require removal, nor how her presence near engineering seemed to disable the ships warp drive, his accusations were thrown out and hers upheld.  She could have pressed things further but decided the worm had suffered enough and asked no further measures be taken against him.

Her attitude and demeanor through the whole ordeal impressed the captain and he allowed her to travel aboard his ship for a time to learn about her people as he'd never seen her species before.  So Fraejia found herself travelling aboard the U.S.S  Brunel under Captain Isenbaum. She found she enjoyed her time there and the outlook of this Federation and it's officers.  They weren't so dissimilar to those of her own peoples and she decided that, for now, she would be pleased to learn more about this organization and the species and worlds there-in.  While it was normally against her people's rules to formally join military organizations given Star Fleets role as a primarily exploration and research fleet gave her the loop hole she needed and she was sponsored by captain Isenbaum into the academy.
