Ennlore D'Ideryn

Ennlore is the daughter of a minor Ultjan coastal baroness. Although she is the firstborn, she was denied traditional succession rights due to the fact that she was born during a low tide, which is considered an ill omen among the coastal baronies. Despite her disinheritance, she was loved and looked after, and her family soon arranged for her to be married to the second son of a neighboring baron.

Ennlore and her betrothed got along well, but neither desired the marriage, so they hatched a plan to pillage one of the ancient Ketrioth barrows on the coast, and split the wealth, so they could go their own way in life. That, at least, is the story she tells people, and claims that she and her betrothed were set upon by foul wraiths and spirits. Her betrothed was devoured alive by foul creatures within the barrow, but she escaped with a great trove of wealth, and a divine relic that imbued her with unusual powers.

Due to the circumstances of her betrothed's disappearance, she was shunned by both her family and the family of her betrothed. Imperial law mandates that all citizens must either surrender their relics to the Myriad Throne, or swear an oath of service, to be allowed to use the relics in Vedraal's name.

She chose the latter, and joined the Army of Righteous Intent, one of the larger imperial military units stationed in Vedraal's southern provinces. She has served in a cadre of mages assigned to the army's commander, and has taken part in actions against bandits, smugglers, pirates, rebels, and in a more sustained conflict against a renegade sorcerer that claimed to be the true Myriad Throne.

While competent enough in battle, she has proven incompetent-willfully or otherwise-at managing the peacetime tasks of army life. She spends more time at taverns, brothels, or gambling halls than is proper for a military magus.

Description: A short, slightly muscular woman, with short, wild dark curls, that frame a pale, scarred, and heart-shaped face. Her eyes are a dull amber, which she claims are a byproduct of her magical gifts.

When not in uniform, she wears masculine clothes that are too extravagant for an officer's salary, with a wild array of armlets, rings, earrings, and other jewelry. The jewelry, too, is beyond the usual pay of an officer, as is the bizarre array of knives and daggers sheathed to her belt and boots.
