Backstory

When I was young my parents had me join a church as an acolyte in Greyhawk City. I found that I would often go to the library and crave adventure and could not stay still in prayer. I loved the fantasy adventure novels so when I turned 18 I left and became the apprentice to Leeron the paladin that visited my church.
There was a villain near my hometown that started kidnapping people for his evil plans (my sister-in-law ended up being one of them). My brother went to his den to save her, but the next day after he went, he and the den disappeared. Witnesses said a large amount of mist covered the area and then disappeared.
From a letter my parents told me of the disappearances. After a lot of researching this, I learn about the Land of Mists and heard about potential entrances where people had already disappeared into the fog before. After consulting with Leeron and after prayer, I decide to go to to try and rescue Jake and my sister in law, and vanquish the evil that is there. I entered a particular forest and after going through some mist I end up in a strange land.
