Emberdell

The Secret of Emberdell

Emberdell is a frontier town like many others. Close to a river, nearby fields provide food and meat for the inhabitants. Mountains range only a few miles away, and roads are patrolled by the local constabulary, who keep an eye on highwaymen or drifting orcs and goblins from the hills.

Emberdell itself is at the edge of the Haven of Tharumar, an arcanocracy, ruled by a council of wizards and holding itself above others in the belief that magic is superior than common soldier or weapons.

While Emberdell is an independent town, it is close enough to Tharumar and the several other dwarven holdings that trade with them is frequent, and traffic allows for all kinds of visitors.

Adventure is rife these days. The hills and mountains are overgrowing with orcs. The tribes have grown too numerous and are beginning to drift down to the human settlements when they are not fighting each other. The ruins of forgotten cities can be found far into the mountains, rumors of ancient magics and treasures drawing curiosity seekers with unanswerable questions. Many leave to find these wonders, but few return. Those who do either speak of marvelous halls long forgotten, where treasures lay for the taking if you are bold enough, or of failed expeditions without success, straggling survivors telling tales of hardship and punishing contraptions. However, they all agree on one thing: the fierce protectors guarding these places are no trifling matter. The rewards may prove worth it but the risks are always too high.

So here you are. After several weeks of travel, you answered the call of Emberdell, and are resting for the night at the local tavern and inn, the Sleeping Owl. Tomorrow you set out to see what possible bounties may be available to you. You are here to make some coin, after all.

Welcome to Emberdell, Adventurers!

The Secret of Emberdell is a low level Basic D&D game set on a home-brewed world. This is a starting game for 1st level characters using the Dungeons and Dragons Rules Cyclopedia with many optional rules and a good amount of house rules added on.

The game is a mix of roleplaying and combat, but this being D&D and me being a tactical GM, it will most likely see a lot of combat.

I am looking for a posting rate of close to every day, Monday to Friday several times a week. Weekends are for rest, and for me to catch up to anything I may have left unfinished over the week.

If you're interested, send me an RTJ with your character idea.

Best of luck!
