Star Trek, a Space Odyssey is a TOS Movie era campaign which picks up the action from my old FASA Star Trek: USS Excalibur campaign run as a face-to-face role-playin game starting in 1982 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, moving to Ottawa, Ontario in 1985 and running until 1995.The USS Odyssey NCC-2001 is the second Excelsior class exploratory cruiser and lead ship in Project Silver Ball, testing the experimental Quantum Para-Dimensional Transport Device. Highly classified, the Silver Ball is rumoured to be a jump drive capable of propeling the ship through hyperspace (a theorised companion phenomenon to subspace).
Characters carried over from the Star Trek: USS Excalibur campaign are Commodore Bradron McCurrvey, the Centauran mission commander; Captain Thelev, the Andorian C/O of the Odyssey and Captain Khendron Mercer, the Efrosian XO. The Odyssey is based in the Kellinan Reach, an area to zenith of the main body of the United Federation of Planets.
