Ignatius Wanna

Ignatius Wanna, Iggy for short, was the town scamp in Kuen Village in the North Blue. He had been orphaned at a young age and had survived on whatever scraps he could find. One day he was exploring the barren plains outside the village when he came upon a lone piece of fruit hanging off of a dead tree. It was odd to see the fruit there, but he was too hungry to wonder for long. Grabbing it he quickly began to devour it, food was hard to come by in Kuen, and he didn’t want to share. He was halfway through when he notices the disgusting flavor. He made a face and then gulped the rest down. At least there was something in his stomach, it didn’t matter how it tasted. A few seconds latter he noticed the odd sensation, and he transformed into the dragon for the first time. His new form was amazing! He could fly and travel long distances. He could hunt down local monsters and then eat them. And he was now strong enough to bully the villagers that had mistreated him for all these years.

One day he was flying and saw a fancy boat. He swooped closer to he who was aboard, when a net hurtled out over the water and he was entangled. He was pulled into the boat and a collar was placed around his neck. There was a large fat man with a ridiculous hairdo. “I am St. Nero, and I have claimed you as one of my slaves! Oh, this is a delight to have a dragon boy in my collection.” Iggy breathed out a cloud of flames, but it was quickly choked off as the collar tightened around his neck and he passed out. When he came to there was a Naval officer there. “Take it easy, there is nothing any of us can do. The collar will tighten if you disobey, and you will die. I’m sorry that this has happened, but you must make the best of it.” Iggy later discovered that that was Nezha, and always thought of him as a kind a gracious man, for a navy officer anyways. He always felt bad that there was nothing he could do when that man was shot like a dog and thrown overboard. But, as Nezha had demonstrated, helping others was a great way to die, and Iggy wanted to live.

His role on board wasn’t too bad, often he would just stand around and transform whenever Nero wanted to show off, but other times the wind would die down, and they would hitch him to the boat and make him tow it. Some days that was all he would do, and he felt like he would drop into the ocean from exhaustion. As he worked, he began to realize that the sea had easy paths and hard paths. There were currents that could help or hinder, and he became very good at reading them. In his spare time, he would help the navigator and began to learn much about sailing a vessel. Someday, he would have an opportunity to escape, and on that day, he knew that he would be able to find his way wherever he wanted to go.
