20 years ago, William Lehrman and his pack approached the Boston Camarilla and offered them the city of Portland. It was unthinkable at the time; everyone thought it to be a trick or a bluff, but the spies confirmed his stories. The city was empty of Sabbat, like it had been wiped clean. William's followers held all the keys to power, and they willingly turned them over. Whatever happened there, no one that knew would say a word.

Although some theories would surface a few years later that it was all an organized plan by the Amici Noctis to help smooth the transition when the clan began to defect from the Sabbat, the fact still remained that William successfully negotiated a deal and entered the Camarilla with a large number of Lasombra at the height of sect aggression. It's made the Portland Lasombra significantly more entrenched than the rest of the clan in the Ivory Tower.

Still, old suspicions die hard, and the Primogen still has many wary enemies watching his every move, waiting for him to slip up. After all, who can trust a Lasombra that willingly handed away his own power?
