Anton has an unenviable position. He was charged with representing the Pyramid when the Camarilla first moved into Portland, but then the Vienna Chantry fell and the Pyramid collapsed. Anton discovered that he barely had any loyalty among Portland's Apprentices without the Blood Bonds, and House Tremere's supporting resources were unavailable as the crisis abroad consumed their organization.
When the Prince asked for the clan's Blood Sorcery, Anton could not deliver. But Tasha Mayer and her defectors from House Carna did.

Now, Anton wears the disgrace of House Tremere in Court. He is still Primogen by name due to enough of the Pyramid's remaining influence in the Camarilla, but he is defanged for the time being. Still, he must spend all his time in the Chantry doing something, and whatever it is, it'll definitely be big. Revenge is a great motivator.
