Seraph

Codename (What we'll list you under in the cast list): Seraph
Character Name: Angelica Whitmore
Character Aliases (if applicable): Angel, Angela
Gender: female
Age (Students should be between 13-16 years old): sixteen

Physical Description: Angelica is a red-haired hazel eyed young woman standing five-foot four with a largely slender build that has assumed most of the proportions of adulthood.  She wears her hair in a loose fall down her back and wears little makeup.  She generally wears backless dresses that tie around the back of her neck and reach her ankles both because she likes them and to accomodate the most obvious part of her mutation, a set of six white feathered wings.

Personality: Angelica is a rather reserved young woman, fairly shy most of the time, and always try to be a proper young lady.  Unfortunately for her she has never been able to master what her upbringing says a lady should be capable of.  She can't cook, she can't sow, and she isn't very good at social situations, all of which bother her.  That she doesn't have to be good at these things to be a proper lady are only beginning to dawn on her.  She is loyal to her friends, and while she once had a deep faith in God that faith was hsaken and, ultimately shattered, due to recent life events leaving her without one of the foundations of what makes her Angelica.

Mutant Powers (Regeneration, Reincarnation, and Reality Warping are currently not permitted):

Angelica's six wings, something which she unfortunately cannot hide leaving her a very easy to identify target for mutant haters, give her tremendous flight speed.  She has never tested her limits but she has managed to reach speeds nearing two hundred fifty mph.

Angelica has also managed to concetrat photons into blasts of light, what she might accomplish with practice is unclear at this time.

Other Skills:

Angelica may not be great at social situations but she is a superb listener and has been capable of giving good advice in dealing with their problems to those who ask for it.  She also has a head for three dimensional movement and is very good with things such as navigation, particularly from the air, rarely ever getting lost if she has passable instructions.

Weaknesses:

Angelica's most obvious weakness is the simple fact that it is incredibly difficult to hide her wings.  They don't retract into her, they don't just disappear, they are always there and force her to wear large, bulky, coates to hide them.  They also don't allow her to use most standard furniture causing problems with simply sitting in a chair or laying in bed.

In order for Angelica to fly her bones are hollow much like a bird's.  This makes her more susceptable to injury and damage to her skeletal system, particularly her wings, than the average human, though not so bad as someone with osteoperosis would be.  It unfortunately means that her down time after injury is both greater and more often than most others.

Previous History (feel free to be brief & cover just the important events):

Angelica was born to a family in Indiana and she was the only daughter of Aldridge Whitmore, a Jesuit minister and head of the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, IN.  Angelica never knew her mother, not even her name, and the only time she asked her father made it very clear that she would never ask about that woman ever again.

Angelica's father was a very strict man who believed that a woman had only a certain place and should only do certain things, and he raised his daughter to be an upstanding, good young woman.  Unfortunately so many of the things he felt a "proper young lady" should be able to do Angelica was horrible at.  This led to no end of strife between them, largely her father punishing her for not succeeding.  The only thing that let Angelica get through this was her faith in God.

When Angelica turned fifteen she began to feel different from everyone else, like something just beneath her skin was lurking, and she knew it wasn't puberty as she had nearly finished her way through that tumultuous path in life.  When she turned sixteen is when Angelica's life fell apart.  She woke up screaming in agony that night and when her father came in and saw the blood from her back and the...things sprouting from her, he began to call her a child of satan and in his age tried to kill her.

In a panic Angelica tried to flee but he managed to grab her arm roughly, hitting her, and causing her arm to fracture badly.   In a panic Angelica screamed and a flash of light blinded Aldridge allowing her to flee.  As her only path to get away was out the second floor window that is exactly where she went.  She flew off into the night leaving her raging, blinded, father behind as her faith shattered that night.
