Kinetique

Codename: Kinetique
Character Name: Aura Irene LeBeau
Character Aliases (if applicable): Aurie, Silent Gal, Psycho Aura

Gender: Female
Age (Students should be between 13-16 years old): 15

Physical Description:

Green and white stripes jumper suit with biker gloves. Wears a purple overcoat. Has brown spiked hair wrapped in a white hairband with glittered diamonds on the front of it. Has high-heeled black boots on. Aura looks just like her mom but the grey bangs are highlights and not actual grey hair and looks borderline white with a hint of silver in them.

Personality: reserved. Mostly quiet. Keeps to herself unless befriended. Has attachment issues. Aura cherishes her friends but her over attachment to the ones she makes may run some away. She always wants to play a card game with someone (preferably those she sees as friends). To those Aura does see as friends, she is very protective of them. Can be seen as psychotic if protecting her friends makes her go to extremes (I.E: beefing with a bully who antagonized a friend. Aura would beat them or go out of her way to make life a living death trap for them. In this instance, Aura would be willing to hold a grudge for her friend until that bully leaves that person alone or becomes their ally.).

Mutant Powers (Regeneration, Reincarnation, and Reality Warping are currently not permitted):

Aura is the 15 year old daughter of Remy and Anna LeBeau (AKA: Gambit and Rogue). She inherited his energy manipulation powers and kinetic absorption from her mother. However, unlike her mother, she is not cursed with not being able to touch anyone in fear of sapping the life force out of them. Yet the inherited powers from her father aren’t 100% controllable (mainly charging items with kinetic energy). Aura has the ability to fly and surround herself in a kinetic forcefield. The latter act can be chained in a sonic spin ball type attack, ricocheting off near by enemies or objects. Unfortunately, this move can leave Aura drained if not sometimes getting nauseated from spinning around too fast. Aura can also use her kinetic energy to give her bursts of speed, allowing her to move like a speedster but no faster than Mach 1. The field can be charged and used as a concussive blast upon impact but will leave Aura drained or unconscious if too much energy is stored for an attack or repeatedly used in short bursts.

Other Skills:

Bow Staff proficiency
Throwing weapons proficiency
Card tricks sleigh of hand
Acrobatics
Bōjutsu (Staff technique)

Weaknesses:

Social Anxiety

Hyper Focus (Can be seen as tunnel vision or lack of map awareness in some instances)

Previous History (feel free to be brief & cover just the important events):

Aura was born in Genosha where her happily married parents Remy and Anna lived. When she was 12, a wild sentinel army attacked the entire country. In the aftermath, she found her parents dead in each others arms. Not knowing that a second wave approached, Aura’s grief exploded into rage. This awakened her X-Gene. Luck as they would say, helped her escape the genocide while taking one sentinel down and heavily damaging another. This burst of adrenaline didn’t last long but before it subsided, fellow mutants sacrificed themselves to ensure her safety through a portal. Just as she arrived on the other side, she found herself in a world much different than her own. Had she crossed dimensions? The person she was sent to, a relative of her mother, had no idea who she was. Though Aura started her new life her in this reality, the challenges of a young mutant became heavier. Going to public school wasn’t an option after an incident happened at school, exposing her mutant powers to the kids around her—even if it was defending herself. The kids started calling her Psycho Aura everyday after the first incident. Aura refused to go to school anymore after that.

Writing Sample (topic of your choice, should be from your character's POV):

“Dear, some people came by the other day.”  Aura’s aunt said. She sat in her rocking chair as the girl sat beside her in the ground, playing solitaire.

Aura looked up at her aunt with an inquisitive look.

“They said they can take better care of you.” Aura’s aunt continued. “I’m sending you to their school.”

Aura suddenly opened her mouth. It seemed ages since she spoke a word to anyone. She stuttered her words, “But auntie, I’m fine!”

“listen here, Aurie,” her aunt stopped rocking in her chair and looked down at her. The lady’s voice had a hint of irritation in her voice as she continued, “you can’t stay cooped up in that room of yours and just be at home all day. You’re getting too old for that! You need to live!”

Aura’s silence made her auntie believe she was retreating into her trauma again and reiterated her decision, “I’m sending you to Haven since you don’t wanna go to school here anymore! I’m not raising no drop out!”

Aura flinched as she felt something warm underneath her index finger. She looked down and saw a hole through the stack of cards she had her finger on. She jerked her hand away in fright. Looking up, she saw her aunt raising an eyebrow at her.

“That situation right there is another reason why you must go. How many times does that make this now? I lost count on how many times you lost control at home and at your previous school!” Aura’s aunt sighed helplessly. “I can’t teach you to control that gift you have better than the Summers can! You must go with them, okay?.”

The young girl sighed in defeat and nodded to her aunt.

The next day Aura packed her bags and her aunt drove her to Haven. Here, Aura would begin her new life.
