Appearance:  Slim and kinda short, for an Ogre, Joran has an unusually clear complexion (almost no warts) and is clean and well-groomed, his tusks, teeth, and claw-like nails clean and maintained.  He is always well-dressed, even when travelling or in casual wear (even his monk's garb), his clothing clean and well maintained, even if it has been damaged.  He tends to wear natural fabrics and fibers, preferring clothing made from cotton, leather/hide, linen, and wool.  When he goes about armed, his weapons are all appropriately sized for him.

Personality:  To outward appearances, Joran is serene and calm,
but with a macabre sense of humor (sometimes jokes about eating
people....).  He is (surprisingly to most people) compassionate,
sensitive to the feelings of others, and very polite and courteous
around those he respects.  Those he considers friends find him to
be a mixture of both.  He loves children (not really to eat, as he
often jokes), showing great kindness and restraint around him,
especially if he gets to play (something he loves to do whenever
possible).  In fact, the surest way to draw his ire is to threaten
or harm a child.  An angry ogre is a terrible thing to behold,
especially when he can create weapons and move things with his mind.
Those who know him well may understand that his macabre humor and
sarcasm are used to hide a low self-esteem.  Despite his confidence
in his powers, he is humble, self-deprecating, kind, and courteous.
While he has not been very open about his history, he has a strong
idea of what is right and what is wrong, and he always tries to do
the right thing.


Benefit to the team:  Besides the fearsomeness of being an ogre martial artist, he brings high level psychic ability.  While it isn't magic, it is highly versatile and is very useful in dealing with supernatural and magical threats.  He can also assist in healing others more quickly than normal medicine, if not as much.
He is also a capable cook, gardener, tailor, and, strangely, a skill dancer, with a decent singing voice.
