Background:

Fritz "Flameout" Jaeger is a fighter pilot with the Deutsches Luftwaffe.  Fritz completed his initial flight instruction at Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas and then went on to qualify in the Eurofighter Typhoon.  He's currently assigned to Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 73 in northeastern Germany.

Fritz earned his callsign on his first solo Typhoon flight.  The aircraft took a bird strike and suffered compressor stalls on both engines.  Fritz successfully executed a dead stick landing and saved the aircraft.

Fritz speaks fluent English and Japanese in addition to his native tongue.
