Background: Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii Gus (Full name August Flynn, he secretly thinks his dad just couldn't think of a name so used the month he was born in.) and his mother spent almost two months in the hospital due to complications during birth. The first month and a half his mother was in a comma. After that his childhood was fairly normal, he attended school and played a few sports. Though he was always more of a nerd.

After high school he went to college University of Hawaii at Manoa. His family were not wealthy and the financial assistance he was eligible for wasn't quite enough to pay for everything. So after college he joined the Marines to help take care of some of the bills.
