flicker with flame whenever he uses his
powers.  Decent looking and fit.  Wears

case he needs to use his powers.

Personality:  Tends to come across
as tough, cocky, and self-reliant, but he
knows how to work with a team.  He is
compassionate and caring, but can also
make hard decisions when necessary.  He is
a survivor who can also seem cruel and
vindictive.  Seems to almost be a walking
contradiction of himself sometimes.
Has this odd quirk allowing him to quickly
pick up and mimic accents and learn any
dialtect of a language he speaks.

BACKGROUND
James and his brother, Michael, were born to poor, second generation Italian
parents, Giuseppe (Joseph) DiAngelo and
Maria (nee' Datillo).  Raised in the
Bronx in NYC, the boys became involved
in crime at a young age.  However,
after seeing so many of his friends
killed or sent to jail or prison, James
decided to get out by enlisting in the
Army.
There, he was assigned to help
establish the Philipine Constabulary in 1902.  There, he was instrumental in
breaking up a black market ring that
was trying to smuggle experimental agents of a chemical nature to the Moro
rebellion.  In the ensuing gun fight,
James became exposed to some of the
chemicals.  However, he survived and had no signs of any symptoms of
long term damage.
When his End of Time in Service came
up in 1904, he was recruited to the
NYPD, first in an attempt to capture growing Sicilian-based mafia-affiliated criminals taking over the gangs; many wiseguys were arrested, and a number
were killed.  When his cover was blown, James was shot and dumped into the East River, but somehow he survived.
James' ability to Generate Fire, Fly,
and surround himself in a Sheath of
Fire are temporarily negated when he is
doused in water, until he can raise his
