Welcome to Something Rich and Strange

09:30, 4th May 2024 (GMT+0)

Alwin

Physically in his early to mid-twenties with strawberry blond hair (though a distinct reddish tone thanks to genes), he's well built and athletic to say the least. He's spent much of his time training and exercising, pursuing a more marital interest than a scholarly one given his build and bearing. He tends to wear clothing of a dark brown color, black or even sometimes (for very social events) a rich red. His clothing style tends to be rather utilitarian, the sort of clothing one would tend to see more prominent men (the rich, nobles and so forth) who are going out into areas they might have to face a bit of violence. Functional, but still not 'cheap'. Nothing he wears could ever be mistaken for 'old clothes'. Oddly, he doesn't appear to keep a sword on hand, but does have a combat dagger at his waist. Beyond his clothes, he wears a single ring on his right hand that appears to have a modest sized ruby on it, but otherwise the only other wear are his boots - a good pair of leather boots that look to be well padded.

Alwin is currently a newcomer to Amber, but Bleys brought him and has introduced him around. Word on the street (and among Amber Castle servants) is just beginning to whisper-whisper that he is one of Bleys' bastards. Though no one has been forthright (or brave enough) to actually ask either of them directly as yet if its true.

While he has tended to keep himself out of the public light - staying at one of the estates of Bleys' - he's been very quizzical when he has been in town. Asking about this Shadow or that, this noble or that, basically asking lots of questions about.. everything. Obviously he's not a local by any stretch, which has many considering him as from somewhere out in Shadow - lending more weight to the rumors about him. He also apparently had a few choice words with one man a few months ago - someone who was decidedly drunk and making more than a few insulting comments. The man was a known troublemaker, who the locals feared would one day let his mouth get the better of him. After (many) drinks, the man began "asking questions" about Alwin - if he knew how to drink, if he kept his dagger on him to pick his teeth, eventually going as far as to 'ask' about his parents - in a decidedly colorful way. No one knows what happened later that night (Alwin left shortly after the last comments), but that guy hasn't been seen since. No one is asking questions about it either - at least no one with any sense!
