Emil Weiss in the European born Regimental Surgeon for the 35th Maine.
  Weiss was born to Jewish parents in Russian-controlled Poland, and has an uncle living in Lodz.  He studied medicine in Budapest and then in Vienna under Ignaz Semmelweis, who has subsequently become famous as an early pioneer of antisepsis.
  Aged in his 60's, Emil is a balding Jewish man with a white, flowing beard.
