There are merry, light-hearted elves; Tanyl Miaras is not one of them.

He's a very intense elf, one who is supremely confident (cocky, perhaps) in his abilities.  His possessions are meager, but greater than what one might expect from a resident of the Narrows.  Well-worn leather armor, a sword and a dagger at the belt, and a small bow.

But no smile.  Just piercing eyes, darting about, taking everything in . . .
