My name is Zandercon. I was born in the month of June 1979. My parents were good people trying to do the right things. We lived mostly homeless on the streets of New York. Life was difficult but my father believed it was necessary in order to stay in touch with ones self. He believed it was more important to be a person of good character and morals than someone willing to stoop low just to have a house or other meaningless possessions.
I grew up on the streets and belonged to a special group of people that’s duty was to help protect and guide the helpless people of our city. We understood others did not understand our way of life and therefore mocked and despised us. No matter, our life was our life, to choose the way we wanted, and to live the way we choose so as long as we stay true to ourselves.
When I was 18, I came across a small group that dressed up in superhero costumes to help deter criminals from commenting acts of lawlessness in their community. These people lived normal lives during the day. They went to work, school, church and/or whatever their normal called for. But at night, they were a neighbor watch to be reckoned with. They stood together and fought the evil(?) that the night brought to their neighborhood. Having the same belief I too took up a costume of a superhero and joined their ranks.
For the next 3 years I wore a superhero mask and helped the group defend those who needed it. I decided the time had come to move on. Something was pulling me south and I wanted to explore a new city. I chose to make Bradenton, FL my new home for no other reason than I missed the next bus. I took it as a sign (even though I’m not superstitious). Even though my location has changed my inner belief was still the same. I’ve recently found another neighborhood watch program called “the Guardian House” and they have promised me it will be worth my while.
