Theogenesis: Godhunter
This is a game inspired by the "Isekai" genre of light novels. "Isekai" novels, or 'portal fantasy', feature a regular modern person being transported to a fantasy videogame universe via reincarnation after death or other mishap, typically as a summoned hero or demon lord.This game inherits thematic and setting DNA from the "Souls" games by From Software, such as "Demon's Souls", "Dark Souls", and "Elden Ring". You are a lowly Godling, reborn into a world fractured by war and corruption, battling monstrous beings in massive ruins built by giants. The worlds are ruled by suffering Gods and populated by desperate remains of their armies; death itself withheld even from the penitent.
So what is Godhunter about?
In Godhunter, you were a normal human being suddenly transported to a dark science fantasy game world that has become fully real for you. You recall your human life on Earth, but find yourself within a strange mansion called the Lost House, populated by other Godlings with similar ambitions centered around slaughtering Gods for power and profit.
Theogenesis: Godhunter is focused on combat, invention, and exploration in that order. Most of the game, you will be hunting down and slaying powerful beings in order to advance your own ambitions and acquire the materials and abilities you need to upgrade equipment.
