Henricus views magic as a path to resolving the enigma while simultaneously acknowledging the enigma is in constant flux and therefore nearly impossible to ever truly grasp without full control of mind and one's vital energies.
He has symbols and geometric patterns tattooed from fingernail to jawline he uses them as foci for his spell casting and would continue to add to the tattoos as he chips away further at the enigma.
In the enigmas context, they serve as both a foci and a temporal and spiritual anchor so as not to lose self in the quest of the mind.
If seen working small magic as he would call it, you would seem him conjuring with his left hand moving it in deliberate but seemingly random ways.  If seen working greater magic as he would call it the left-hand movements would extend all the way up the arm with the right hand on his head, a tome, or a source of power.

He holds himself separate but not above those who are not gifted to be among the Hermetic Order.

To a passerby, Henricus would look slightly unkempt and in conversation seem a bit off, not crazy, just someone who is having multiple conversations at once but there's only one person he's talking to. He wears a long hooded robe that is cut loose but not baggy, the sleeves cover his hands to the second knuckle in day to day life. He carries a wide-bladed dagger on his left hip and a small satchel that hangs at his right.  The satchel carries small things to help him in nonmagical life and to help him collect components when needed. While he carries a staff it is not a wand or wizards staff, just a stout blackthorn.
