Emerald eyes, ringed with amber, peer observantly from a hunger-thin face. A brush of dark brown (almost black) hair bristles out around the edges of a well-worn cap that is nearly always perched on his head. An easy smile reveals surprisingly straight teeth, though he more often wears a thoughtful expression, as if even the most regular objects or events are a puzzle to be worked out to some inevitable solution. When not hunched over a craftsman's table or stalking food, he stands at just an inch shy of five feet. What skin isn't covered by clothes is the near-tan olive common to most of the folks from his region.

Despite his relative amicability, it's fairly clear to anyone with any degree of empathy that he's rendered somewhat uncomfortable in social settings. He won't go out of his way to avoid groups or crowds, but neither does he seek to draw attention to himself, preferring to be an outside observer rather than an active participant in society. On the other hand, when away from the bustle of human activity and surrounded by nature, he opens up more easily and freely. Even so, there are few who he considers as friends, or who would consider him their friend, as even companions are often kept at arm's length. He doesn't speak much, but when he does his voice is a crystal clear tenor that, regardless of volume, has enough of a gravitas about it to immediately command attention.

Despite social discomfort, he will often become quite animated when riddles or puzzles are brought up, the one subject he is willing to come out of his shell about. Blacksmith's puzzles are easily his most favorite pastime, the more complicated the better, although he does occasionally stumble over more complex word problems. Between this hobby and his market experience, he has gained quite a head for numbers and for maps, having even drawn up several charcoal depictions of his forest home and the roads to and from it to distribute to interested vendors in the city.
