I Want to Believe - The Alpha to Omega Files
One fine, or miserable, day you are approached by a couple of of people. A man and a woman; both are on the fit and skinny side, wearing off the rack conservative professional office attire.  They want to talk to you, "privately".  Their manner makes it plain that "Government Agency" is likely to be in their resume. You get the feeling you have a choice; but do you?

For whatever reason, you choose to hear them out. The two are very polite, yet rather closed mouth on certain details. And, they certainly know all about you.  At the end, there is an invite to a second interview.  The invite comes with a subtle hint, most delicately and carefully crafted that doesn't actually say the words. There a rather elegant forty-something woman quietly interviews you and reveals much more about why you were picked, and the consequences of your choice. Will those two "Government Agency" types leave the "office".  The question being, "On their own, or with you.?" You might think the former would be the better response; after all "accidents" can so easily happen in a dangerous world.

All, in all, these visitors and the woman, really do come across as "the good guys". And, the approach had been carefully constructed and executed to allow potential candidates a lot of time to bail out, before things escalated to a point of no return for who and what you were before that first approach.

So, here is the skinny should you stay for that full interview:
