Ser Roland is a young knight with a lean handsome face. He is the son to Ser Robert Blackwood, cousin to Lady Agnes Blackwood. He also holds the lands around the hamlet of Blackbuckle as a landed knight in service to his aunt.

He squired for Ser Beros Wallain, and holds the knight in high regard, and is seen to take after the knight in terms of outlook and valour.
