Augustine Elliot grew up on a small ranch in northern Texas.  Learning to ride and herd cattle at an early age.  When the War broke out, he enlisted in the 8th Texas Calvary and fought in many engagements.   Rather than surrender, he was one of the 150 men that slipped through the lines at the end of the war.  He has been drifting back into Texas working at various ranches.
