Tales of the Weird West - Blood Drive [Hiatus]

A lot has happened since the Civil War began. Deseret was founded, a great quake split California into pieces and revealed Ghost Rock, Grant because president handing his leadership of the Union Army over to George Meade, Washington D.C. was the site of a major battle, and the Confederate States surrendered at Appomattox on April 9, 1871 ending the Civil War and bringing the U.S. and the former C.S.A back together.

Later in 1871, the Great Rail Wars began pitting several Railroad Companies against each other in an attempt to cross the nation. In rapid succession afterwards the Territorial Rangers were formed (based on the Texas Rangers and assigned to the US Territories), the Sioux Nation was founded, the towns of Deadwood and Tombstone were established and in 1876 Reverend Grimme established Free and Holy City of Lost Angels.

In 1879, Lost Angels saw the end of the Great Rail Wars with Wasatch Rail as the victor. The next year, the Great Flood ravaged Lost Angels and the Maze, killing Reverend Grimme. In 1881, shamans of the Sioux (who were fighting with the US over rights to Ghost Rock in the Black Hills) summoned thunderbirds who brought "the Old Ways" to the Sioux people. Ever since, within the Sioux Nations, modern conveniences such as guns, bullets, wagons and even belt buckles and saddles fall apart much faster than they should (with the exception of Deadwood and the roads in and out where it's a bit slower, but still happening). In October of that year, in Tombstone, the Earps and Doc Holliday squared off against the Cowboys in the OK Corral, and ended up being killed by Stone at the Clanton Ranch after a feud/war and a ride of vengeance on the Earps part.

Back East, ailing President Chester Arthur presides over the battered Union. Politicians in Washington just passed the Chinese Exclusion Act (in 1882) causing honest folks no end of trouble, and their try at Reconstruction of the South seems to be nearing its calamitous close. And, last year Dr. Darius Hellstrome put himself into seclusion. Now, it's 1884 and if the past few years are any indicator this year is going to be one doozy of a year...

No matter where you were from originally though, for one reason or another you’ve ended up down near the Mexico border in the small town of Sutter Flats almost broke and looking for an opportunity, any kind of opportunity, that might mean a change in the way things have been going. However, if that is a change for the better or for ill remains to be seen...
