Ramirez

Beyond triple layer blast doors that are more than suitable as an external seal to the void lies the Martyr's Kiss' Navigator chambers.  When in use the place appears to be a single featureless circle with a blister with void-glass similar in use to the Observation domes that are placed on pleasure ships and diplomatic ships.  The circular outer wall that the done sits on is smooth in appearance by up close one can discern that there are a myriad of symbols and forms cleverly inscribed to make it appear as simply the texture of the metal.  The only thing of note is in the center and that...that is very notable.  To those familiar with xenos materials there are the ribs of what appears to be half a sphere made from wraith-bone.  When one gets closer it's obvious that in the 'sphere' it dips down  and one can see that the ribs link to form a perfect sphere.  Dotted on the inside of the wraith-bone are precious stones and in the middle there is a raised dais.  One might expect more Eldar construction but instead it appears that someone with far more knowledge than wisdom, at least when it comes to the Inquisition, has wedded Imperial technology with Eldar and created a table upon the dais with a number of cables.  One major one connects to the base of Ramirez' skull while a few more connect to his spine and back providing nourishment and fluids to allow him to survive almost indefinitely if not pleasurably.  Such a design also lets him move around the sphere as if to reach each of the ribs where there are stones inlaid.  Not enough though to leave the sphere that is perhaps fifteen meters in radius at the dead center.  It makes for a palatable final boundary should anyone brave the full brunt of the warp and enter his room while he is navigating as his third eye will be open and if he was laying upon the dais if one entered the sphere it would bear the full brunt of his undiluted eye.

When his duties guiding the vessel are done the domes blast panels stretch over and around sealing out the room by default but they can be retracted to allow conventional stargazing.  The sphere in the center of the room withdraws itself deeper into the floor before being sealed over by wards and the Imperial Aquilla.  Everywhere else though becomes full of detail.  Walls shift revealing secondary sealed compartments full of charts and maps that the layman con understand as well as three dimensional baubles and artwork that are actually mnemonically coded to House Cassini Navigators allowing them to understand the abstract forms for the truth that they are: complex and detailed charts and maps of everywhere the House has been and collected in their main repository.  With those things is also a single ancient looking servo-skull.  The bone is covered in protective sigils and wards and hovers around the books and tomes that accompany the maps and charts.  The floor in other areas parts and recessed furniture raises up showing that the Navigator does have a bed, desks, bookshelves, hololithic tables that have the layout of the ship as well as ones covering stellar and warp routes that could be used.  As much as there are electronics there are also ancient means too.  Functional telescopes lacking 'digital' augmentation that allow limited specific star-gazing and notation of stellar phenomena.  There are tools laying around that would allow him to navigate everything from a massive voidship down to an ancient longship over an ocean.
