Treason can corrupt even those who do not take part. Duke Severus the XIII, lord of the Periphery, seceded from the Imperium without the leave of Terra. The inhabitants of the new Severan Dominate became traitors overnight, even those who had no prior knowledge of it.You are the officers of a Rogue Trader ship. For generations the dynasty has allied itself with the Periphery, rising despite the lord's own falling influence. Now at a stroke, all the fortunes and influence amassed was seized. As the final scion of the dynasty was not believed to be part of the treason, their final ship was left to them, along with their Warrant of Trade.
