Elias Monaghan

Name: Elias Monaghan

Occupation: Lord of the House Monaghan

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Race/Species: Human

Appearance: The pride and joy of his parents, Elias is a near-perfect picture of what one might imagine a fine young lord, from a well-off family, with ties to the Royal Court. Tall, dark and handsome are the three most used words to describe his appearance, and he's been affectionately accused of stealing many a court lady's heart just by walking into the room.

To his mother's dismay, he wears his hair long, the dark tresses falling in loose waves down past his shoulders, and framing his clean-cut face. His skin bears the inherited, ever so slight tan of the Monaghan family, giving him the appearance of someone who had spent most of his childhood in the sunlight. Contrasting to that, his eyes are a very light gray color, sometimes taking the faintest hue of blue, of the light hits them right.

Overall, Elias is a well-built man, strong and honed for combat, without appearing bulky, he walks with his back straight and head held high - a textbook example of the knights of eld - whose legacy Elias and his regiment of Nobles still uphold to this day.

Personality: As kind as he is handsome, Elias is a son every mother would wish for. Speaking with a soft baritone, Elias rarely raises his voice, firmly believing that one should only yell in alarm or pain, and never to assert dominance over another person. He is respectful, thoughtful and considerate, often to a point of being jokingly made fun of from his peers, but he doesn't hold it against them.

On the battlefield, though he had not seen that much of war in his your life, he is methodical and calculated, always looking to save the people, rather than bring down the enemy's number. This particular code he lives by had gotten him into some hot water with the king and his generals, as a few attempted to accuse him of insubordination, when he refused to execute a captured enemy spy, but Elias never wavered, stating that them man had been caught unarmed, and the one passing judgment should also raise the sword at him. The accusations were eventually cast aside, to the expense of Elias never getting the opportunity to rise above the station of Captain in his regiment, but he seems fine with that.

But, when not dealing with the court nonsense and endless border-keeping ride-outs, Elias turns all of his attention to his lovely Lady wife, Jasira. If Elias' life has been good before her, it was perfect now, for what was supposed to be an arranged marriage between their houses, turned into a year of courting, in which he managed to get to know his lady wife to be, and found not only a suitable marital companion, but a kind friend, an attentive lover and what he always hoped he'd find one day.

Smitten with her to the point of being perfectly content with simply staring at her while she sat down and read something, he regularly seeks out new ways of delighting his wife on a daily basis, be it from bringing her still-hot, stolen pastries from the kitchen, even though tea-time would be in less than an hour, or coming in with an armful of wildflowers for her, to the dismay of the servants constantly needing to put out new vases, because Jasira once said she liked them.

Abilities/Skills: Very proficient with a sword and spear, Elias is a formidable opponent when met in the battlefield. An impressive rider as well, he seems to understand and predict how the enemy would move towards him and the horse, thus being able to avoid or deflect the majority of attacks aimed at him. He possesses the ability to keep a cool head in difficult circumstances, and is quite the strategist.

Besides combat prowess, he is also quite well educated, speaking no less than four languages fluently, and being able to quote poetry and debate politics at a drop of a hat. He usually infuriates courtiers trying to catch him unprepared, as he seems to have an answer for every single thing they throw at him, with a barely visible smirk at the corner of his lips.

History: The sole heir of the Monaghan fortune and estate, Elias was always considered to be something of a miracle child, given that it took his doting parents a long time to conceive. However, once Elias was born, and a male heir at that, the entire family poured in their time and wealth into his upbringing, determined to make a Lord of their house, worthy of envy in every region of the land.

He was taught by numerous tutors on a vast variety of subjects, was taught proper etiquette, along with history, languages, and everything a young Lordling might need to navigate the complex labyrinth that were the Court relations, in order to preserve their house and it's good name.

Elias grew wanting for nothing, dotted upon by his parents, but still managed to grow into a wise and serious young man, seemingly embodying every ideal his family had set upon him. But, the only true stir of excitement he felt in his chest was the moment he had met his wife to be, the lovely Jasira, who turned his entire world upside down, in the best of ways.

As if he had reverted back into that wide-eyed boy, he found himself fascinated by her, absorbing every word she chose to grace him with, and soon enough, he found himself unable to picture his life without her, the marriage proposal coming not even a full year since he had met her. To his infinite joy, Jasira sad yes and his life finally got that one detail that truly made it perfect.
