Atlanta by Night
By day, the City of Atlanta and the surrounding metropolitan area is home to more than six million souls. Atlanta proper is home to just over a half a million of those and is the capitol city of the United States state of Georgia. The city was originally founded as the terminus of a major state-sponsored railroad. With rapid expansion, however, it soon became the convergence point among multiple railroads, spurring its rapid growth. During the American Civil War, the city was burned to the ground by Union General William T. Sherman during his famous March to the Sea. The resiliency of the southern jewel would not be overcome by something so mundane, however, as Atlanta rose from its own ashes and flourished over the ensuing century and a half.

Today, Atlanta ranks in the top twenty among world cities and tenth in the United States with a gross domestic product of $385 billion. Its economy is considered diverse, with dominant sectors that include aerospace, transportation, logistics, professional and business services, media operations, medical services, and information technology. Atlanta has topographic features that include rolling hills and dense tree coverage, earning it the nickname of "the city in a forest". Gentrification of Atlanta's neighborhoods, initially spurred by the 1996 Summer Olympics, has intensified in the 21st century with the growth of the Atlanta Beltline, altering the city's demographics, politics, aesthetics, and culture.

But what you don't see is the thriving community of nearly two hundred Kindred. The exact number is unknown, because the Tower does not keep a census, but you are one of these denizens of the night. Seeking power, survival, and always looking for your next meal.
