With no liquid cash to hire passage away from the tiny village, she settled in to try to survive while she waited for opportunity.

Rosa began to search for a new crew that she could join. She knew that she could never return to her former life as a merchant sailor, but she still yearned for the freedom and adventure of the open sea. Despite the danger and uncertainty, she refused to give up on her dreams. And so, Rosa Salvatore remained in "Rickey's Squibs", plotting and planning her next move, always on the lookout for a way out.
