Eldryn Duskryn

Background/Concept
If you are familiar with Raymond E. Feist's work, you may recognise the general idea I am going for. In his work, he has a number of different elven races, including one which turns up in the very last of the books, named the Star Elves. If you are not familiar with his work, I will summarise. There was, long ago, a race named the Valheru, the first of the races of the mortal world. These beings were amoral, and were immensely powerful. They were also known as Dragon lords, and the very dragons were their servants, along with all the mortal races. They charged across the planes, dominating everything they came across. Then along came new beings into being, known as gods. They went to war, the Valheru expecting them to be normal enemies like so many they had previously defeated. But the gods were more powerful than the Valheru expected, and they were defeated. They eventually formed into a  collective of pure power, in an effort to defeat the gods. But their plan backfired, and they were trapped in a space beyond spaces. Their servants went free, and became the modern races. The most powerful of their servants were the dragons, who became reclusive. The second most powerful of their servants were a subrace of elves known as the Star Elves. The various elven races had different roles, and the Star Elves were those who accompanied their masters in their battles across the planes. Now they were free, and considered themselves to be the mightiest beings left in existence.

My character, Eldryn, is one of these Star Elves. His mission in life is to try to find out what happened to the Valheru, and to return them to power. This is because, although they were amoral, the Valheru were beings of order, even if only by dominating all they conquered. He would be willing to help the gods because over his long life he has started to question whether his life's goal is wrong, and that perhaps the legends of his people about the noble Valheru masters were wrong, and that they were truly brutal dictators and genocidal maniacs. He thinks that the only beings who know the truth, and met the Valheru, would be the gods. And if the gods are being kidnapped, that both removes a source of knowledge, as well as possibly being an indication of the activities of the long disappeared Valheru, who he thinks may be involved somehow.

Personality
Eldryn is an elven supremacist, believing that his people are the ultimate of the mortal races. He wants to bring back the Valheru, while also fearing the pure chaos they could cause to the multiverse. He finds himself wondering if he is wrong in his search. He always seeks legends and artifacts of the Valheru when he learns of them, and will do anything to recover them. He has a good sense of humour, but is not at all self-deprecating, not tolerating mockery. He respects dragons above any other mortal race, but views them as friendly rivals more than friends most of the time. He views other races as being less than his own. Despite this, he is a fundamentally good person, helping those who need it, and is generous with both his time and wealth.
