Zack Caligat is in the heroing business for all the wrong reasons. If anybody's in it for the right reasons, he figures it's an act. Celebrity status, fans and groupies, and an earnest belief that some of the villainesses do seduce heroes. His confidence mostly comes from being just this side of unkillable, thanks to being able to control the strange black oil he has in place of blood. It gives him a lackadaisical attitude in his work, insofar as civilian lives aren't at risk.

He maintains a shallow mystique to his hero persona, Noh. It's easy enough to do, wearing a dark cloak and a white Noh theater mask, covering his face in oil when he needs to remove it. Initially, he'd had more elaborate plans- subtle tricks with the mask to change expressions, poetry to sound more dramatic- but ended up finding that it generally went unnoticed. What remains of the act is enough to provide for his fanbase, even if the more prosaic details of what he's like are available online too.

His civilian appearance is a caucasian man in his mid-twenties, with messy brown hair, average height, and a thin build. He takes a certain pleasure in maintaining the cover identity of a disreputable slacker, but is actually passionate about cooking- even outside of using it to pick up chicks.
