Methethron is the bastard son of Melune, Elven first wife of the human Randred Derexhi.  When Randred found out he had Melethron locked up in a wing of his palace.  He was still given all the luxuries of a Noble, provided wizards to teach him, Randred even spent much time with Melethron and treated him as his son.  He held no ill will to the child but for the families honor had to keep this secret.

He grew up sheltered from the harshness of the world.  His life was given to the pursuit of knowledge and the knowledge which intrigued him most was Magic.   In studying and learning about magic he came to discover that he had innate magical abilities.  When the wizards who were his teachers became aware of his innate powers they concocted a lie in hopes to free Melethron from his captivity.

They claimed that he was an abomination that could only be explained by a dark perversion of magic.  They convinced his parents to banish him from their lands, that to allow him to stay would only bring death and ruin upon them.  The lie worked and Melethron was banished from their home.

Melethron now on his own and on the road travelled far, seeking knowledge of magic from casters of all colors and any tomb of lore or knowledge that he could find.  His search lead him to joining an organization that might provide many opportunities to find the knowledge he sought.  The Pathfinder Society.
